New Warehouse Designs: Angled Aisles and Their Effects on Travel Distance

Abstract

This dissertation presents new, improved aisle designs for warehouses where there are different material flows. The goal is to reduce travel distance to pick and store an item in a warehouse. The approach is to design cross and picking aisles so as to reduce travel time along aisles.
