Percepción y mito de la identidad nacional venezolana a través de las narrativas testimoniales, Florecer lejos de casa

Abstract

Actualmente, Venezuela está viviendo una transición social drástica. Los elementos sociales, económicos y políticos que precisa un país para ser devastado vinieron a morar la nación, todos a la misma vez, dejando a su paso un sabor de desesperanza, tristeza, angustia y dolor. Consecuentemente, la identidad nacional se realza en la memoria de sus ciudadanos como una imagen mítica de esplendor y belleza forjada en el ayer, mientras que el hoy es una representación de desplazamiento, desarraigo y lo que se ha dejado de ser. El concepto de identidad nacional se (des)fragmenta en la mente de los venezolanos, sentando las bases para una nueva imagen nacional. Por lo tanto, la intención de este trabajo de investigación es entender y delimitar la concepción de identidad nacional percibida por el venezolano, a partir de la narrativa testimonial Florecer lejos de casa, con el propósito de establecer una comprensión clara de la transición identitaria de esta sociedad y despertar una respuesta orgánica por parte del lector.

Currently, Venezuela is experiencing a drastic social transition. The social, economic and political elements that a country needs to be devastated, came to dwell in the nation, all at the same time, leaving behind a taste of hopelessness, sadness, anguish and pain. Consequently, the national identity is highlighted in the memory of its citizens as a mythical image of splendor and beauty forged in the past, while today is a representation of displacement, uprooting and what has ceased to be. The concept of national identity is (de) fragmenting in the minds of Venezuelans, laying the foundations for a new national image. Therefore, the intention of this thesis is to understand and delimit the conception of national identity perceived by Venezuelans in the testimonial narrative Flourishing Away from Home, with the purpose of establishing a clear understanding of the transition of this society’s identity and awaken an organic response from the reader.
