This study is a content analysis of minority representation on broadcast and streaming television in the 2019-2020 season. This research aims to understand the type of representation of minority groups on television; more specifically the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Allied and beyond (LGBTQIA+) group, the black, indigenous, people of color, and beyond (BIPOC+) group, and of the inclusive LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC+ group. Using Cedric Clark’s (1969) Four Stages of Minority Representation as a framework, this research will analyze eight series from the 2019-2020 television season and evaluate the quality of representation (and treatment) for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC+, and LGBTQIA+BIPOC+ people on modern television.en_US
