Abstract

Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sanitation and cleanliness are high on the minds of consumers. Designers must now consider the cleanliness of their products, a consideration that is newer to the field. To aid the designer in meeting this development, this thesis presents a guideline to aid the designer with the integration of biocides into plastic products. These biocides can offer an anti-microbial effect, adding to the disinfectant properties of the final product. In theory, this guideline set could be applied to any product including plastic, rubber, or elastomers in the design. If this assumption is correct, then any product could have improved protective abilities after application. This study will explore the feasibility of this theory.
